Just a few F.A.Q`s
Q. How often should a piano be tuned?
A. According to the national piano macufacturer
at least every 6 months or once a year.
Q. Should I put my piano on an inside wall, out-
side wall, away from the cooler, away from the
heat vent?
A. It depends on how often you tune your piano.
If you never tune your piano then it doesn`t
matter where you locate your piano. It will
always be out of tune anywhere. If you tune
your piano on a regular basis then it is not
to critical where you put it because modern
homes are well insulated and with frequent
tunings the piano will stay in good tune.
Q. We are moving to Utah {or some other similar
climate}, should I bring my piano or sell it
fearing the sounding board may crack?
A. Bring it. All pianos are brought to Utah.
There are no pianos currently made in Utah.
Q. How serious is a cracked sounding board?
A. Without going into a lot of detail it usually
is not a problem. Many pianos have cracked
sounding boards, small or hairline, and per-
form fine. If the crack creates a vibration
or noise it can be repaired.
Q. How do I clean my piano keytops?
A. I suggest a light cleaner on a damp rag.
